Annie Pardoe

I’m Annie! I’m a longtime New Yorker and current Upper West Sider. My career path has taken me from performance to the field of creative arts therapy. I received a BFA in Drama from New York University and returned there to pursue my MA in Drama Therapy. As a drama therapist I have worked in schools and mental health programs with individuals of all ages.

My own teenage years were a time of frequent change—moving regularly, living abroad, and transitioning into boarding school. This was a great challenge as I was maturing and establishing my identity. My passion for theatre and consistent involvement in the arts helped to keep me grounded and served as a vital means of expression. I always say this is where I discovered therapeutic arts, long before I chose my career path!

I specialize in major transitions and everything that comes with them—anxiety, relationship difficulties, impacts on self-image and executive functioning. My personal and professional experiences have given me a passion for working with teenagers and young adults in particular. Together we will build on your strengths, cultivate your self-compassion, and work through barriers and difficult emotions.

When you don’t have words for how you’re feeling, we’ll get creative and turn to the body, imagery, and the five senses to reach the heart of your experience. All our sessions will be tailored to you and your needs.
